I just can't get over how much Charlotte loves this little guy.  I hope that as they grow up she continues to adore him and that he reciprocates that adoration.  I like to imagine that they'll be best of friend and always have each other's back.

Jonas - 5 Months

 The J-man is now 5-months.  He's finally stopped growing a clothing size each month...thank goodness because that was getting expensive!  He weighs 18.6 lbs. and is 27.5 inches long.  He rolls from his tummy to his back,but not the other way yet.  He kind of does the hand supported sitting for a minute if he's in the  mood for it. It's been so fun getting to know his little personality.  He's a very happy baby, but pretty serious. He likes one-on-one interaction and is snuggly. Adam refers to him as the "anti-Charlotte" because they're pretty much opposite in every way possible. 

Turning 4...I mean 24

So, I just celebrated another birthday.  Charlotte got a Birthday Party My Little Pony for Christmas this past year and has been  a little obsessed with birthday parties in general.  We sing happy birthday to people all the time, even when it's not their birthday.  Her pony came with a party hat and when she heard my birthday was coming up, she insisted we have party hats.  So when I came to the decorated dining room to celebrate, this is what I found:

 Yep, a Little Einstein themed party.  Apparently, someone thought I was turning 4 instead of 24.  Walmart only has Justin Beiber, Spongebob, or Little Einstein party hats.  Since party hats were a must, my mom went with Little Einsteins for which I am grateful considering the other options.

It was a great birthday (minus the fact that I was sick...boo)!  My mom made a chocolate Reese's peanutbutter cup cake...YUM!   Have I mentioned that I love peanutbutter? Cause I do.

Nelson Update

Weather in Cleveland really sucks!!!! It's about 20 below and about 5 feet of snow. Here is a picture of our house:
Luckily, we aren't there. I am using this month to study and shadow a podiatrist in Atlanta. Of course, any excuse to get out of Cleveland in January and February is a good one. Actually, we haven't lived in Cleveland since September. Here is a picture of how we feel about missing out on another Cleveland winter:

Charlotte now thinks that we want to know every thought that passes through her brain, because she makes sure to tell us EVERYTHING. The other night, we were putting her hair in curlers for the next day. Here are a couple pictures of her:

When she saw herself in the mirror, she said, " Wook mom!!!! My head wooks wike a birfday pauty!!!!!!. Apparently being a dad requires you to take a Rosetta Stone class for speaking Toddler. Also, it seems my wife has already learned it all because she understands Charlotte perfectly. I always think I need a urim and thumin if she talks to me at all.

Jonas is almost 5 months old now and weighs about 19 pounds, of which 2/3 of that weight resides in his head. It's like an orange on a toothpick. I keep thinking that walking is going to be difficult for him because of the effect of gravity, but we'll see. He is getting to try new foods now too. We tried giving him some green beans baby food the other night, and we recorded his reaction to trying something new.

I don't blame him for reacting this way. That stuff is disgusting. I think Gerber Foods makes those vegetables solely to laugh at the faces that kids make when they eat them. It is the closest that we come to torture in our society. The fruits aren't bad though. I personally really like the plum and the dutch apple pie baby foods. I could sit down and eat the whole jar and not share it with my kid. I'm suprised that someone hasn't figured it out yet and made that stuff into something for grown-ups to eat, cause I would buy it by the case.

Playing in Winter

This morning it snowed in Georgia.  We got about seven inches.  Since we've been visiting the lovely South, Charlotte hasn't really played in the snow yet this winter, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't remember it from last year.  When she saw it this morning she said, "I want to make a snowman and play out in the winter."  I think she thinks winter and snow are the same thing.  So, she got all bundled up in her clothing that isn't at all appropriate for snow.  The poor girl now thinks that plastic bags inside her shoes turn them into boots.

And playing in "the winter" just wouldn't be complete without some hot chocolate to warm her up after coming inside.

Jonas - 4 Months

Jonas is now 4 months old.  I haven't been the best at documenting his growth and development on here (I hear that's normal for all the children that come after the 1st).  Our little man is still super chill and easy going. He's eating a little cereal now and sleeps from 8:30pm to 6:30am. 

He can lift his head and roll from side to side.  He's been working on grabbing his feet and putting them in his mouth.  He'll reach out and try to grab toys that we place in front of him and sometimes has success.

Yesterday he figured out how to suck on his bottom lip and hum.  He's a bit obsessed with it and does it all day long.  It makes for a pretty cute facial expression.

 Charlotte still loves him and only had a small bout of jealousy when Adam came back after an externship.  I'm pretty sure that if he keeps growing the way he is, he's going to pass up Charlotte in a couple years.  He's 17 lbs. and 27 inches long.

Blessed

Jonas has become our little holiday baby.  He was born on Labor Day and due to the craziness of Adam's fourth year of podiatry school, the only day we had available to bless him was Halloween.  It was a beautiful day and a beautiful blessing.  I am so grateful for my little family, and I'm especially grateful that my husband holds the priesthood.  Adam blessed him in my parent's ward in Georgia, and so my whole family was able to be there for it.  It was kind of a big deal for me since Dario and Josh were on their missions when Charlotte was blessed, and Nathan doesn't go to church with us anymore.  He came for the blessing, but had to leave before we took pictures. Having him there was a blessing.  Unfortunately, Adam's family wasn't able to make it out for the blessing.  We missed having them there, but we are looking forward to seeing them very soon!

Happy Halloween - Peter Pan Style

This year Charlotte wanted to be Tinkerbell for Halloween. So, we took off with a Peter Pan theme...Captain Hook, Tiger Lily, Tink and Peter Pan.

We were running late to the trunk-or-treat so this is the only picture I got of my parents in their costumes.  It's the first time they've dressed up[ since they've been married.  Aren't they cute?
