Are You Sure It's Okay to Crawl on This Floor?

For some reason Charlotte HATES to crawl on linoleum. If Adam and I are in the kitchen, she'll crawl across the carpet toward the kitchen, but once she gets to the linoleum she just sits on the edge of the carpet trying to figure out how to get to us without touching the linoleum. Sometimes, I set her down on the kitchen floor so I can do something. Here is what she does:For her, the less of her body that is touching the floor, the better. It makes me laugh because she tries to crawl this way, but can't get anywhere. Silly girl!

Music Lessons with Daddy

Daddy decided it was time to give Charlotte her first guitar lesson. For this lesson she worked on strumming. We expect her to be playing "Puff the Magic Dragon" by her first birthday! :)

I'm. in. Love.

One of the things that first made me swoon over Adam was his sincere interest in other people. It seems that everywhere we go, he is able to make friends in an instant because of this trait. While I was cooking dinner last night, he took Charlotte outside to look at the geese and their nest of eggs. When I glanced out at them this is what I saw:

In the few minutes he had been out there, he had managed to strike up a conversation about geese with three girls from the apartment complex. It melted my heart. Can't you just see him with lots of daughters? Anyway, soon there after I heard one of the little girls have this conversation with her mom:

Little Girl: Mom, look geese!

mom: oh...

Little Girl: And a baby. Her name is Charlotte. He wants to be a doctor. He likes smelly feet.

It just made me laugh to see how much they had talked about during those few minutes they had been out there. Then the little girl pulled out a book she had about diseases and started reading it to Adam. They were all out there for about 20 minutes. He was so patient and listened to everything she had to say. It was so cute. I'm a lucky girl.

Um, NO!

Charlotte just learned how to shake her head "no" on Saturday. We have been over encouraging her to do this so we could get a video.

I think we may have created an unintentional Pavlov effect. This morning Charlotte started playing with some wires and when Adam told her "no," she shook her head!

Coloring Eggs, and my pants, and my shirt, and the floor...

Saturday evening Adam, Charlissa and I colored eggs for Easter. I LOVE coloring eggs! Adam and I do it every year, and I always hide them and make him look for them. I must say that he's never too thrilled to search for them, but he's a good husband and does it just to amuse me. This year Charlissa and our friend Rachel came over so I made them look for the hidden eggs too. I made it a competition to see who could find the most eggs, and it was the most excited Adam has ever been about an egg hunt. He definitely has that Nelson competitiveness running though his blood! Back to my story...
So, coloring eggs was a lot of fun! Here are some pictures of us hard at play:
All that smiling came before the accident. I still don't know how I did it, but somehow I managed to spill the red dye all over me and the carpet underneath me. It was funny, but we were so busy trying to make sure it didn't stain that we didn't get many pictures of the huge mess it made. I did get a pic of my pants after I had sprayed stain remover on them.
You can kind of see the red tint under there. It did wash out! Whew! Our carpet has a slightly pink tint to it, but I don't think it's really noticable unless you were present for the disaster. This experience made me grateful that Adam is not my father, but that he is the father of my children. He was very serious and stern as he was removing the stain from the carpet. I did not like him being stern with me, but it is nice to know that he can be stern when he needs to be. I have been married to him for over two years and had never seen that side of him. Haha!

John Johnson Farm

Charlissa (Adam's sister) is here visiting us for a week or so, and we are so happy to have her around. Her first day here, we decided to go and visit the John Johnson farm here in Ohio. I absolutely love seeing all the church historic sites, especially the houses. It really makes the historic people and places come to life. It was a wonderful reminder of the Savior during the Easter season. I am so glad to have the gospel in my life! I am also very grateful for my eternal family!

8 Months

I can hardly believe that my baby girl is already 8 months! She is such a happy baby and is a joy to have around.

Weight: 16 lbs.
Height: 26 inches
At eight months, Charlotte has three teeth. She can sit herself up and army crawl. She eats fruit, vegetables, chicken, eggs and Cheerios. Her favorite toys are the ones that make music! She is always so happy and a great baby! She definitley has a knack for making friends everywhere she goes. I love this girl!
